CLASSIFICATIONS OF SYNTACTIC MISTAKES IN LINGUISTIC AND METHODICAL LITERATURE
UDC: 371.3:37.016
Section: PEDAGOGICS
Authors: Tat'yana Anatol'evna Khristolyubova ;
This article is devoted to the problem of classification of syntactic mistakes in linguistic and methodical literature. Syntactic mistakes as a kind of grammar ones are considered in N. N. Algazina, S. A. Arefyeva, M. T. Baranov, S. N. Tseitlin’s works and the works of other researchers. Some types of syntactic mistakes are studied in more detail, others – less. The classification of syntactic mistakes is presented in the fullest form in the works of N. N. Algazina and S. A. Arefyeva. The analysis of literature on a problem of syntactic mistakes allows to come to a conclusion that the majority of works is devoted to mistakes in government. The fullest classification of mistakes in government is G. A. Fomicheva's classification. The mistakes in agreement are considered in the works of N. M. Belyankova, L. Varkovitskaya, L. V. Trebukhovskaya and others. A. P. Yeremeyeva and G. I. Mishurova describe syntactic mistakes in the sentences complicated by homogeneous parts in detail. A. P. Yeremeyeva's classification deserves attention. The mistakes in the violation of sentence limits, the reasons which lead to it, are studied by L. P. Aleksenko, N. M. Belyankova and others. At the same time some researchers, for example, O. E. Gaybaryan and A. V. Kuznetsova, M. Ya. Kryuchkova, use the concepts “violation of sentence limits” and “parceling” as synonyms. The mistakes in a word order are described in the works of L. I. Velichko, B. S. Muchnik, Z. D. Popova, O. B. Sirotinina and others. At the same time scientists differentiate the mistakes in a word order as the violation of the norms of both syntax and stylistics. The issue of the qualification of mistakes connected with the omission of sentence parts is solved ambiguously. So, some researchers refer the omissions of words to logical mistakes, others – to syntactic ones. Besides, some scientists refer to syntactic mistakes the mistakes made by children when they do the syntactic analysis of sentences. Thus, the prevention and overcoming of grammar mistakes in the speech of pupils has to rely on the pedagogical forecasting of possible grammar mistakes of pupils of a certain age on the basis of the accounting of the features of formation of a grammar system of their speech by the acquaintance of pupils with the types of grammar mistakes. The classification of morphological and syntactic mistakes constructed according to the studied grammar subjects of a school course of the Russian language is needed for these purposes.

THE SOURCES OF TRANSFERRED MEANINGS IN THE SEMANTIC STRUCTURE OF COMPOUND NAMES OF ANIMALS AND PLANTS IN ENGLISH
UDC: 811.111’37
Section: PHILOLOGY
Authors: Tat'yana Petrovna Astankova ;
The article is devoted to a comparative study of the sources of transferred meanings in the semantic structure of compound names of animals and plants. The linguistic material for analysis was selected from Webster’s New World Dictionary of the American Language. The author analyzed the definitions of compounds in order to find out the models of metaphorical and metonymic composition and the features of animals and plants that the transferred meanings are based on. The author comes to the conclusion that derivational metaphor is more active than derivational metonymy in both the groups. In some cases these processes may interact. The role of the models of metaphorical composition is different in the analyzed groups of compounds. The metaphorical meanings of most compound names of animals are the result of the so-called “incomplete metaphorization”, when the referent of the second component of a compound is compared to that of its first component. As a rule, animals are compared to other animals or objects. While “incomplete metaphorization” is also active in the formation of compounds denoting plants, in many cases the derivational base of names of plants is fully metaphorized. The metaphorization of this group of compounds is usually based on similarity between plants and animals or plants and objects. The number of metonymic compounds in both the groups is about the same. In most cases the second component of a compound denotes a part of an animal’s body or that of a plant and the first component points to one of its characteristic features. The interaction of metaphorical and metonymic transference of meaning is much more frequent in the formation of compounds denoting plants.

HOME IN BORIS PASTERNAK’S PROSE
UDC: 82.09:821.161.1
Section: PHILOLOGY
Authors: Olga Sergeevna Berezina ;
The novel “Doctor Zhivago” and the correspondence between B. Pasternak and M. Tsvetaeva, representatives of the same generation, well-known aristocratic birth descendants, are used as a base for catching the importance of home for the writer. Biographical details, most thoroughly reflected in the Pasternak’s epistolary prose, give a clue to understanding many pages of the writer’s art. The letters demonstrate the real life of this era. B. Pasternak praised traditions of home and family and gave a key role to play to relationships with the closest. The problem of home and family is widely represented in “Doctor Zhivago”. According to D. Likhachev, this work is a kind of autobiography. However, depicting the contemporary generation of “fatherless” in the novel, Pasternak himself did not belong to him. Social upheavals did not have such a destructive impact on his life. Russia had changed beyond recognition with the advent of the revolution. As a result of social upheavals, relationships between the closest became sag and lost. Pasternak did not accept the revolution; he came to the conclusion that the renovation of life destroys its fundamental bases. Pasternak depicts in his novel the generation of his peers who have inherited the spiritual richness of the XIXth century, but live in a terrible turn of time. So he realizes family and home atmosphere has a direct impact on human life. The events, reflected in the novel, are represented not in quite traditional manner – through the prism of childhood. The syncretism of experience, of perception, of memory allows to discuss the immediate implementation of the idea of “transformation” in Pasternak's novel as a dramatic, theatrical or musical performance. The extensive use of figurative symbolism, methods of psychologism (through the description of the paintings of nature), internal monologues and prolonged conversations of characters is of great value to reconstruct the image of the house in the novel by Boris Pasternak.
