carried out in accordance with the theoretical model of mathematical competence formation developed in the
study. Research results. At the end of the experiment, the level of mathematical competence formation of students of
the experimental group was higher than that of students of the control group. The number of students with a high
and medium level of mathematical competence formation increased by 35% in the experimental group, and
in the control group − by 9 %. Conclusions. The conducted experimental work confirmed the effectiveness of the complex of pedagogical conditions and the model of mathematical competence formation of future
mid-level specialists.
DEVELOPING THE STUDENTS’ MULTICULTURAL COMPETENCE AT THE DEPARTMENT OF PRIMARY EDUCATION
UDC: 371.3
Section: PEDAGOGICS
Authors: Ilgiz M. Sinagatullin; Guzal A. Valitova;
The modern world is becoming more and more multicultural, a process that, in turn, makes an impact on the
whole spectrum of educational goals being realized in educational institutions of different types. These changes
necessitate the organization of multicultural education and simultaneously necessitate the development of
the growing generations’ multicultural competence. The multicultural society of Russia requires the educational
institutions to take into consideration multicultural and language factors of corresponding socio-cultural regions
in the education and upbringing of young people. The issues of multicultural education are being developed at
the Department of Pedagogy and Methods of Pre-School and Primary Education of the Birsk Branch of the
Bashkir State University. In the 2017–2018 academic year we conducted a research aimed at the theoretical justification
and creation of pedagogical conditions that promote the effective development of the graduate students’
multicultural competence. Our hypothesis was based on the following assumption: the development of the
students’ multicultural competence will be carried out more effectively if we infuse the educational process and,
especially, pedagogical courses with multicultural content; include into the educational process a special course
“Developing prospective primary teachers’ multicultural competence”; create a favorable educational and information
environment and involve students in research activities on multicultural themes. The findings demonstrated
a growth of the students’ multicultural knowledge base and personal qualities. The authors recorded
a relatively high level of readiness of the prospective teachers to work with a multicultural group of pupils.
PRACTICE-ORIENTED TEACHING OF NATURAL SCIENCES BACHELORS AS A WAY TO FORM PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES
UDC: 378.147
Section: PEDAGOGICS
Authors: Victoriia S. Tugulchieva; Polina D. Vasilyeva;
Introduction. In the training of Natural Sciences bachelors at the University, a high dependence of the quality of
students' training on the ability to apply mathematical knowledge in the development of specialized disciplines
was revealed. The problem of practice-oriented teaching of mathematics is caused by the lack of students' ability
to apply theoretical knowledge, the search for the optimal approach to ensuring the interrelation of the theoretical
and practical components of mathematical education. Practice-oriented training requires reliance on theoretical
knowledge, but the prevalence of theoretical knowledge in the educational process creates a high risk of training
formalization. The purpose of the study is to identify the formation of Natural Sciences bachelors’ abilities to
perform practice-oriented tasks, to identify the role of practice-oriented education as a way of professional competencies
formation. Materials and methods. To achieve this goal, the levels of professional orientation of students
according to the method of T. D. Dubovitskaya and the levels of bachelors’ mathematical knowledge during
entrance knowledge testing using the model of V. P. Bespalko for assessment of learning outcomes were
revealed. Results of the research. During the study, the high level of students’ professional orientation to the future
profession is revealed, that allows us not to attribute the motivational and value attitudes of students to obstacles
to mathematical competence formation. The results of mathematical knowledge testing showed that students
coped with tasks of increased complexity (knowledge component), but a low percentage of practice-oriented
tasks performance was shown. Conclusion. The results obtained determined the relevance of strengthening practiceoriented
training through the introduction of practice-oriented tasks into the educational process. Practice-oriented maths education contributes to the achievement of students’ understanding of the essence of the mathematical
concepts under study, requires further research and methodological developments.

THE MYTHOLOGICAL AND FOLKLORE CONTEXT OF A. PUDIN’S DRAMA “CORDON”
UDC: 821.511.152
Section: PHILOLOGY
Authors: Yuriy G. Antonov;
Introduction. The subject of the study is mythological and folklore motives in A. Pudin’s drama «Cordon».
Nowadays, the analysis of the mythological and folklore elements in works of art is relevant in Russian science.
This analysis being aimed at revealing the artistic and aesthetic properties of literature, determines the ethnic specificity of Mordovian literature. The objective is to consider the multifaceted problem of the national myth interpretation
through the author’s expression of the ethnic picture of the world. Materials and methods. The culturalhistorical
method allows the author to trace the trends of the use of folklore and mythological elements at different
stages of the Mordovian drama development and to describe the national myth specificity and its literary interpretation.
The author also uses the contextual and cultural principles of the hermeneutic method to understand the ethnic (Mordovian)
cultural and historical tradition in order to study the artistic and national features of the dramatic works,
in which there is the author’s interpretation of the national myth. Mythopoetics makes it possible to identify analogies
between artistic images and symbols, literary transformation of the national myth, and the author’s interpretation
of the mythological image. Results of the study, discussion. The study makes it possible to clarify and update the
genre-thematic and artistic-aesthetic boundaries of the contemporary Mordovian drama, closely related to the artistic
development of the oral folk tradition and myth. The mythological and folklore element, as a significant component of
the modern Mordovian drama, remains unstudied. The article proves that in the play “Cordon” A. Pudin uses elements
of the national myth and folklore to expand the genre and aesthetic boundaries of the national drama. The playwright,
creatively reinterpreting ethnic mythology and oral folklore, in his work artistically authentic shows the reality
and characters. The conclusion. The analysis of A. Pudin’s drama “Cordon” allows revealing the patterns for the use
of myth and oral folklore tradition in the Mordovian drama. Mythologism in the play is a component that unites both
action and characters. The author shows the conflict of the play and its deep meaning through the interpretation of the
national myth. The author’s interpretation of myth and folklore is a regular feature of Mordovian literature that
contributes to the expansion of its artistic and aesthetic boundaries, and gives it an ethnic identity.
COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF FRENCH AND RUSSIAN POSSESSIVE FORMS
UDC: 81-112.4
Section: PHILOLOGY
Authors: Svetlana M. Davletshina;
Introduction. French and Russian possessive forms represent a group of words serving the purpose of reference
and characterized by the semantic component of “possessiveness”. The analyses of possessive constructions
“possessive + noun” from the point of view of their evolution gives the opportunity to characterize the owner’s
personal sphere at each stage of society development. Thus, it is possible not only to register changes in terms of the
expression of possessiveness, but also to track the evolution of attitudes towards property. Purpose: to conduct a comparative
historical analysis of the evolution of the possessive forms of the French and Russian languages within
the framework of the study of typologically different languages developed on the basis of synthetic ones, on the
material of literary works of the XII-XIV centuries. Materials and methods: comparative historical analyses,
contrastive analyses, componential analyses. Results, discussion. Diachronic analysis showed more significant
transformations of French possessive forms: the modification of their appearance, the differentiation of stressed
and unstressed forms and the determination of their place towards the noun took place. Russian possessive forms
evolution concerned only the modification of their place towards the characterized noun. Such pervasive changes
are conditioned by the evolution of the synthetic Latin into the analytic French, phonetic transformations and
the shift to phrasal stress. Conclusion. According to the analyses of constructions “possessive + noun” from the
Old Russian and the Old French literary works (The Song of Roland, Oeuvres complètes de Joachim du Bellay,
The Song of Igor’s Campaign), depending on the left component semantics, this construction may characterize
different relations, expanding the personal possessor’s area to the bounds of the universe. Both the Old French literary monument and the Old Russian have a tendency to pleonastic use of possessives. The Old Russian
source abounds in reflexive possessive pronoun “svoy”.
PATRIOTISM AS AN IMAGE (PSYCHOLINGUISTIC ASPECT)
UDC: 81.23
Section: PHILOLOGY
Authors: Oksana V. Kazachenko; Liliya A. Khamula;
Introduction. It is widely known that patriotism is one of the most important national values of many countries.
Nowadays mass media and internet resources play a great role in shaping the image of this value, which, with the
help of different non-verbal means convey a certain meaning, very often unconsciously supplementing the image
of the phenomenon under study. It allows to construct the attitude of people to certain phenomena of their lives.
Therefore, the purpose of the scientific paper is to analyze the explication of value of patriotism by non-verbal
means in such countries as Russia, Great Britain, the USA and France. Materials and methods. The authors selected
40 images that illustrate the value of patriotism in the above-mentioned countries on the principle of frequency
and system value. Further, the results were confirmed by the data of associative dictionaries. The main methods
of research were: continuous sampling method, comparative method, qualitative and quantitative research methods.
Results and discussion. In the analysis of images representing the value of patriotism in different cultures, universal
features and similarities in some characteristics were noted which indicates the universality of the concept.
Differences due to factors of ethnic identity were also identified. Conclusion. The image of patriotism manifests
itself quite differentially in different countries due to traditions and customs adopted in specific countries, the historical
path of their development and modern state policy. At the same time, in the visual representation of the value
of patriotism, we can find some common components, such as the close interrelation of the analyzed images with the state symbols and territorial boundaries, the connection with space exploration, as well as the national
and specific cultural features of certain countries. The authors prove that the images of patriotism embodied
non-verbally in the images, reflect the specifics and structure of understanding the value of a particular state.
TRAVEL PROSE: GENRE, STYLE, DISCOURSE, NARRATIVE (RESULTS AND PROSPECTS OF STUDYING)
UDC: 82-1/-9
Section: PHILOLOGY
Authors: Olga V. Kublitskaya;
Introduction: the article summarizes different actual approaches to travel prose study (genre, style, discourse,
narrative). Purpose: systematization of key theoretical and methodological approaches to the study of travel
prose: genre, style, discourse, narrative. Materials and methods: the research is based on analysis and synthesis,
induction and deduction. Comparative, formal, structural and comparative-historical methods of textual analysis
are also applied. Results, discussion: the basic approaches to literary analysis of travel prose (genre, style, discourse
and narrative) are summarized. It is stated that the most appropriate concept to define the genre specifics of travel
prose is metagenre. Style and discourse self-sufficiency of the phenomenon as well as the importance of the system
of narrative instances are recognized. Genre approach is taken as the most representative (but not exhaustive) method.
Inability to use common terminology is stated. The use of the concept of travelogeme, a structural-semantic model
of travel prose, is taken as the way to develop advanced instrumentation for its analysis. Conclusion: convergent
conception of travelogeme is considered to be one of the productive approaches to the travel prose study.
PRINT MEDIA OF THE GERMAN ARMED FORCES (BUNDESWEHR)
UDC: 82.02/.09
Section: PHILOLOGY
Authors: Evelina G. Mkhitariants; Vladimir G. Gaposhin;
Introduction. Work in the information space today is one of the main activity areas of the Armed Forces of any
country. The Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Germany (Bundeswehr) are no exception in this respect.
They issue a number of printed publications dedicated to vital matters of the army operation. Objective. In this
article an attempt was made to develop an idea of the place and role of the print media in the context of the political
and awareness-raising work carried out by Bundeswehr. Materials and Methods. The main print media issued
by the German Armed Forces, namely “Y” and “Bundeswehr Aktuell”, are considered in this article with simultaneous
addressing the other periodicals associated with the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Germany. Content
analysis, style measurement, quantitative estimation, and comparative analysis methods formed the methodological
basis of this study. Results of the Study, Discussions. The correlation between the ideological orientation
of Bundeswehr’s print media and the “Innere Führung” (Internal Guidance) concept, being the main military
doctrine of the German army, is shown in the article. After analyzing the subject matter and the structure of these
magazines, their design, stylistic, linguistic and pragmatic, as well as social and cultural specifics, a conclusion
was drawn that Bundeswehr’s print media follow the trends of the modern information space. The scientific
novelty of this paper is in studying the Bundeswehr’s print media in their direct relation with the democratization
process of the Armed Forces in the post-war Germany. Conclusion. While the main mission of Bundeswehr’s
print media is providing the Armed Forces personnel with political information, they also perform a number of other functions, such as education, assessment and recreation. The combination of various topical sections
within these periodicals allows speaking of their democratic orientation targeting the general public.
CONTEXTUAL POETICS OF LITERARY WORK AS A SUBJECT OF PHILOLOGICAL ANALYSIS
UDC: 82.02/.09
Section: PHILOLOGY
Authors: Natal'ya N. Starygina;
The article contains an analytical review of the main ideas and concepts of such a phenomenon as context. Based
on understanding of the context as part of a literary text and considering the context in the paradigm “content -
form”, the author of the article distinguishes between the concepts “contextual content” and “contextual poetics”.
When studying contextual poetics, it is necessary to implement a systematic approach, the criteria basis of which
is the way of presenting contextual content. Contextual poetics is considered as a three-level system, the first
level of which is formed by techniques by which the means of contextual poetics (citation, naming, symbolization,
systematization, etc.) are updated, the second level is formed from the means of presenting contextual
content (concept, symbol, quotation, etc.), the third (highest) level is a form of representation of contextual content
(intertext, sphere of concepts, supertext, author's vital text, etc.). The systematization of the forms of contextual
content representation allows us to define the author's contextual paradigm, to characterize the contextual
competence of the writer. It is necessary to take into account the role of the reader (researcher), his contextual
susceptibility, as well as methods and techniques of modeling contextual behavior of the reader by the creator
of the literary text. The article outlines the perspectives for studying the poetics of a literary work and the writer's
work as a whole when implementing the proposed approach, the task is to develop adequate methods for
studying contextual poetics and contextual content.
THE PLOT “THE MAGICIAN AND HIS PUPIL” (NO. 325 OF THE COMPARATIVE INDEX OF PLOTS) IN THE RUSSIAN FAIRY TALE
UDC: 398
Section: PHILOLOGY
Authors: Anna O. Troshkova;
The plot “The magician and his pupil” (no. 325 of the comparative index of plots) (ATU 325) can be considered
one of the most widespread in world culture and in the Russian tradition. It is represented by numerous variants not
only in Russia, but also abroad that give the researcher a clear idea of its origin and wide geographical distribution.
The plot, which attracted the attention of foreign researchers (W. Clouston, J. Zipes) developed for a
long time before appearing before us in its final version. At present, it is represented by 54 published versions
in the Russian folktale tradition, five of which were not included in the “East Slavic fairy tale” comparative
index of plots. The purpose of this study is to present a comparative-typological analysis of Russian fairy
tales, which are based on the plot of «The magician and his pupil» (ATU 325), to consider its peculiarities in
the Russian folktale tradition. The material of the research was 54 versions of Russian fairy tales of ATU 325,
49 of which were included in the “East Slavic fairy tale” comparative index of plots. In the course
of studying the plot of ATU 325 the comparative-typological method was used. Thus, the study revealed
differences in the plot-composition structure of its variants, showed cases of the coherent implementation of
its motifs in 32 texts, marked the cases of its contamination with other plots and popular motifs that are not
included in the comparative index of plots “East Slavic fairy tales” (325 + 671; 325 + 400 + 329; 325 + 519;
313A + 325; 313V + 325; 325 + 1525А; 325 + 400). The study also identified cases of wrong attribution of
six texts to ATU 325.
SYNTHESIS OF FICTION AND DOCUMENTARY IN THE STORY “FLYING OVER THE ICEˮ BY B. PORFIRYEV
UDC: 82-312
Section: PHILOLOGY
Authors: Ming Feng;
Introduction. The literature on sports and athletes of the twentieth century is still insufficiently studied. Often,
in the literature on sports, there is an integration of documentary and artistic beginnings, since the writer, relying
on sports facts and memories, creates the artistic world of sports. In recent decades, scientists have addressed the
problem of synthesizing documentary and artistic in various thematic and genre formations; however, the nature
of fiction and documentary prose is still quite difficult to determine. The object of the study is the fiction
and documentary prose on sports and athletes by the Kirov writer B. Porfiryev. The subject of the study is the
content and genre originality, as well as the synthesis of the documentary and fiction prose in the story
of B. Porfiryev “Flying over the ice”. The purpose of this article is to study the nature of the synthesis of fiction
and documentary prose in the story of B. Porfiryev “Flying over the ice”, identifying the possibilities of various
techniques in reflecting the author's intention on the basis of documented biographical facts. “Flying over the ice.
The story of Maria Isakova” as a synthetic genre formation, which determined the features of the artistic manner of the
Kirov writer. Materials and methods. The main research material is the story “Flying over the ice. The story of Maria
Isakova”, which was published in 1966 in the Volga-Vyatka book publishing house. This is a fiction and documentary prose with the dominant documentary beginning on speed skating and the famous speed skater
M. Isakova. The author used the following methods and approaches: biographical, suggesting the interpretation
of the work as a reflection of Isakova's biographical and personal characteristics, problem-thematic and comparative.
Conclusion. The analysis showed that “Flying over the ice. The story of Maria Isakova” is a synthetic genre
formation, which organically combines artistic and documentary beginnings. These aspects determine the features of
the artistic manner of the Kirov writer B. Porfiryev. He uses the documentary facts from Maria Isakova’s life and
seamlessly weaves it into the created artistic world of the story. The writer also depicts large-scale historical
events of the sports life of Vyatka and the whole country.
SPECIFICS OF THE SICILIAN DIALECT USE IN MODERN FICTION
UDC: 811.131
Section: PHILOLOGY
Authors: Elena O. Shapovalova;
Introduction. In the article the specifics of the Sicilian dialect use in modern fiction, its function and the sphere
of use are studied. The research identifies the main spheres of use of the Sicilian dialect in works of fiction: in the
speech of characters, in set expressions, proverbs and sayings, in names of regional dishes, etc. Purpose: to study the
characteristics of the Sicilian dialect in fiction as well as the reasons for the use of this dialect in the considered
sources. Materials and methods. The descriptive method is applied to study the social functioning of the
language, to describe and analyze the elements and parts of the working “language mechanism” – a detailed and
precise characterization of phonemes, morphemes, words, grammatical categories, forms, etc. The comparative
method is aimed at the work of the language structure, has the main objective to knowing the similarities and
differences in the structure of the literary language and dialect. The technique of the lexicographic description
includes observation of words in various contexts of their application, correlation of words with each other and
with realities for differentiation of values. The technique of special sampling is used when collecting empirical
material. Units relating to the Sicilian dialect were chosen. Results, discussion. In modern literary works the
author, using a dialect, tries to keep the national linguistic specifics of the region, to immerse the reader in the
atmosphere of the place where the story unfolds. The readers who do not even speak a particular dialect should
be imbued with the flavor and identity of the described region. Conclusion. The conducted research showed that,
despite the spread of mass media in literary national language, in the regions of modern Italy the problem of
preservation and use of dialects is still relevant.
