Personal-Oriented Learning in the Digital Environment of a University in Ta-jikistann

UDC: 378.147Section: PEDAGOGICS
Authors: Dilrabo S. Babadzhanova

Annotation: Introduction. The digitalization of education in the Republic of Tajikistan creates fundamentally new opportunities for implementing a learner-centered approach that takes into account the individual characteristics, cognitive abilities, and educational needs of each student. The relevance of the study is determined by the need for scientific justification of mechanisms for integrating personalized technologies into the educational practice of universities in the context of implementing the national Concept of Digital Education until 2042. The problem is exacerbated by the lack of methodological developments adapted to the specifics of regional universities and taking into account the cultural and linguistic context of Tajikistan. Purpose ‒ to develop and scientifically substantiate a model of learner-centered education in the digital educational environment of a higher educational institution in Tajikistan, and to determine the pedagogical conditions for its effective implementation. Materials and methods. The study was conducted at the Engineering and Pedagogical Faculty of Khujand State University named after Academician B. Gafurov during the 2023-2025 academic years. The methods used included pedagogical experiment, questionnaire surveys of students and teachers, testing, academic performance analysis, and statistical data processing using Student's t-test. The study involved 247 second and third-year students enrolled in the programs "Primary Education (Primary School Teacher)", "Psychology and Preschool Education", and "Technology Teacher". Results, discussion. A three-component model has been developed, including diagnostic, adaptive, and reflective blocks. The diagnostic block provides a comprehensive assessment of students' individual characteristics, the adaptive block implements content and trajectory personalization, and the reflective block develops metacognitive skills. A statistically significant increase in academic performance by 23% (p<0.001) and intrinsic motivation to learn by 34% was experimentally established in the experimental group compared to the control group. Specific implementation barriers were identified: insufficient digital competence of teachers, limited technical infrastructure, lack of methodological support in the Tajik language, and organizational obstacles. Conclusion. The effectiveness of learner-centered education in a digital environment has been confirmed by empirical data. The developed model can be adapted for other universities of the republic, taking into account regional specifics, the student contingent, and the level of digitalization of the educational process.

UDC: 37.013.77+159.9Section: PEDAGOGICS
Authors: Gulnaz I. Gallyamova; Elena V. Kondratenko; Natalya A. Biryukova

Annotation: Relevance. Socio-economic changes in society dictate new requirements for the training of specialists, which makes the problem of early professional socialization relevant. In the context of continuous teacher training, one possible solution to this problem is the organization of specialized psychological and pedagogical classes to identify pedagogically gifted children and foster their interest in becoming teachers, as well as their professional competencies and skills for their future careers. The purpose of this study is to identify the essential characteristics and current problems of successful professional socialization of students in psychological and pedagogical classes in modern conditions. Materials and methods. The study used theoretical research methods ‒ theoretical analysis of scientific literature on the research topic, generalization of the existing positive experience of the activities of psychological and pedagogical classes, as well as empirical methods ‒ questioning of teachers and students of psychological and pedagogical classes. The main part. The article identifies the specifics and stages of a teacher's professional socialization and reveals the features of its implementation in psychological and pedagogical classes. The scientific novelty of the study lies in clarifying the methodological approaches to the professional socialization of future teachers and specifying their role in this process. During the study, we conducted a questionnaire survey of 128 graduates of psychological and pedagogical classes and 27 teachers from 10 educational organizations in the Republic of Mari El in the academic year 2024-2025. The analysis of the results of the questionnaire survey of teachers revealed the problems of professional socialization of students in psychological and pedagogical classes. Conclusion. As a result of the study, it was found that psychological and pedagogical classes are an important stage of professional orientation and the initial stage of professional socialization of students, and they contribute to the formation of interest in the teacher profession, the development of professional skills, and preparation for teaching in pedagogical fields of study at universities and secondary vocational education institutions, as well as early specialization of students.

Design thinking technology as a means of forming entrepreneurial competencies of university students

UDC: 378.016:338Section: PEDAGOGICS
Authors: Sergei Yu. Lavrentyev; Dmitry A. Krylov; Linar G. Akhmetov

Annotation: Introduction. In today's rapidly changing socio-cultural conditions, one of the key factors in the development of a knowledge-based economy is the active introduction of digital educational technologies, increasing the importance of entrepreneurial activity among students. In these specific conditions, the formation of entrepreneurial competencies of university students capable of generating innovative ideas and creating promising startup projects that are ready to effectively adapt to the rapidly changing demands of the labor market is of particular importance in improving the quality of professional training. The relevance of the research is due to the need to search for new educational technologies based on an interdisciplinary pedagogical approach that ensures the effective integration of theoretical knowledge and practical knowledge in the process of developing students' entrepreneurial abilities. Based on the generalization of scientific and methodological literature on professional pedagogy and social entrepreneurship, the research problem is identified, which is based on the contradiction between the emerging need of the labor market for graduates with a well-formed entrepreneurial mindset, a high level of willingness to carry out innovative activities and insufficient development of methods for the formation of entrepreneurial competencies of students in the educational environment of the university. The purpose of the research is to theoretically substantiate and experimentally verify the effectiveness of using variable methods of design thinking in the process of forming students' entrepreneurial competencies in the educational environment of a modern university. The research materials included scientific and methodological research by Russian and foreign scientists, practitioners in the field of entrepreneurship education, management of innovative projects in education, methodology in the field of design thinking, as well as analysis, generalization, included and not included observation, group surveys, interviews among students and university teachers. The results of the study revealed a set of design thinking methods performed during the stages of empathy, problem formulation, idea generation, prototyping and testing, which contribute to the formation of students' creative thinking skills, teamwork, readiness to make informed, balanced managerial decisions, and entrepreneurial initiative. In conclusion, it is concluded that it is necessary to use design thinking methods in the educational process of a modern university, which can serve as a basis for improving the quality of professional training for students who are able to participate in the development of an innovative economy.

Digital Design in Mari Language Teaching: Challenges of Ethnocultural Authenticity in AI-Generated Images

UDC: 378.1Section: PEDAGOGICS
Authors: Toktarova Vera I. ; Matrosova Natalia V.

Annotation: Introduction. The digital transformation of education and culture opens new opportunities for preserving the intangible heritage of small peoples, but simultaneously exacerbates the problem of ethnocultural authenticity when using generative AI technologies. Active digitalization processes facilitate both expanded access to knowledge about the languages, cultures, and traditions of various ethnic groups through educational platforms, thematic communities, virtual museums, and other digital ethnographic services, and the transformation of traditional cultural practices. Modern neural networks systematically distort visual representations of Mari culture: they replace national ornaments and regional costumes, and lose the semantic meaning of sacred symbols. These distortions pose multi-layered risks – from the development of a fragmented linguistic worldview in students to the acceleration of digital inequality among small ethnic groups. The purpose of the article is to reveal and substantiate the essence of the problem of ethnocultural authenticity in AI-generated images in the context of digital design in the teaching of the Mari language and literature. During the work, theoretical and empirical research methods were used. Results, discussion. This article examines the development of human ethnocultural identity in the digital environment, emphasizing the importance of visual elements both in representing culture and in conveying key meanings of an ethnic community's worldview. The authors provide examples of incorrectly generated images dedicated to the culture of the Mari people and analyze the representational, pedagogical, and educational consequences of authenticity violations during the creation of digital projects on the Mari language and literature. A metadata structure for a verified dataset for training neural networks is proposed, including a hierarchical taxonomy, detailed bilingual descriptions (Russian/Mari), contextual attributes, technical image parameters, and sample size requirements. Conclusion. It is concluded that the development of specialized datasets of Mari culture represents a strategic tool for ensuring the equal representation of Mari heritage in the digital environment and creating a technological basis for innovative educational projects – from immersive simulators to generative AI assistants operating in the Mari language.

Mari prayer in the article by A. I. Emichev “Mythology of the Votyaks and Cheremis”: linguocultural analysis

UDC: 811.55.9.5.Section: PHILOLOGY
Authors: Abukaeva Lyubov A.

Annotation: Introduction. The processes of understanding the role of traditional values in the modern multinational and multi-confessional culture of Russia have a significant impact on the Mari ethnic religion. At the same time, its historical and cultural potential allows it to consistently adhere to its principles and perform its social functions. The purpose of this study is to analyze a prayer text translated into Russian, which covers issues related to the phenomenon of the Mari prayer, its characteristics, and its connection with prayer rituals. The purpose of the study is to analyze the prayer text in Russian, which covers issues related to the phenomenon of the Mari prayer, its characteristics, and its connection to prayer rituals. Materials and research methods. The article "The Mythology of the Votyaks and Cheremis" by A. I. Emichev, published in the journal Sovremennik in 1836, was used as the object of analysis. The comparative study used texts of prayers published in Russian and foreign sources from the 19th and 20th centuries. The article also employed stylistic, component, and linguocultural analysis, as well as descriptive methods. Research results and discussions. Mari prayers reflect the religious worldview: cultural codes, basic concepts, and a system of spiritual values are embodied. Studying these prayers allows us to understand the mentality of the people. To conduct research in a diachronic aspect, it is necessary to use early editions of prayer texts, including translations, retellings, and parallel publications in Mari and Russian. An analysis of A. I. Emichev's note as a material representing the Lugovomari version of the prayer in translation allowed us to establish that the author represented the Mari prayer as a sacred text, and the translation accurately reflected the content and composition of the prayer, using the phonetic and lexical resources of the Church Slavonic language. Conclusion. Studying the experience of predecessors will allow us to eliminate the difficulties faced by translators of sacred texts of the Mari ethno-religion, avoid errors and distortions in their interpretation, and conduct diachronic and comparative studies.

Artistic Originality of the Prose of the Ingush Writer M. Khadziev

UDC: 82-1/-9Section: PHILOLOGY
Authors: Raziyat A. Akhmedova; Sabina N. Khanbalaeva

Annotation: Introduction. The article dedicated to the analysis of the artistic world of Musa Khadziev (Kant Malussi), which was a defining influence on the development of his prose. Characterized by an open journalistic style, the writer's work is the result of ideological, spiritual, aesthetic, and stylistic explorations, and represents a relevant problem for Ingush literature and literary criticism in the early 21st century. Khadziev's style is distinguished by a lyrical narrative tone, heightened emotionality, and the illusion of transforming the past into the present. In his short prose, the writer demonstrates a remarkable ability to condense profound, universally significant content into the limited space of a story, thereby artistically reflecting many upheavals of a transitional era. The evolution of the novel genre in Khadziev's work occurred under the influence of 21st-century literary trends, specifically post-postmodernism and its aesthetics. The originality of his style and language in his Russian-language prose, combined with the distinctiveness of his philosophical and aesthetic convictions, has enabled him to create an artistic portrayal not only of modern North Caucasian reality but also of its ancient history. The purpose of this study is to determine the artistic originality of M. Khadziev’s prose. The research objectives are: to illustrate the various manifestations of Ingush life during turbulent times as depicted in the writer's work; to analyze his generic experimentation; and to examine the treatment of ideological and artistic themes in his works. To address these tasks, the study employs cultural-historical and comparative-typological methods. The materials under examination are the novella Interrupted Flight, the stories Sister and The Old Man and the Sea, and the novel Journey into the Past. Research results. For the first time a holistic analysis of the ideological and artistic originality of the writer's works has been carried out, and the main genre and stylistic features of his prose have been characterized. In conclusion, the analysis of Musa Khadziev’s (Kant Malussi's) artistic world allows us to identify the characteristic features of his prose and to define the role of his creative explorations within the context of modern Ingush literature.

Comparative analysis of verbal phraseological units with a zoosomatic component in English, German and Russian

UDC: 81’367.625:81’373Section: PHILOLOGY
Authors: Astankova Tatiana P. ; Kazyro Galina N.

Annotation: Introduction. This article provides a comparative semantic analysis of English, German, and Russian phraseological units with names of animal body parts (zoocomponents). The aim of the study is to identify and describe the common and distinct properties of phraseological units with a zoosomatic component using English, German, and Russian language data. Methods and Materials. Phraseological units were selected from dictionaries based on the presence of a zoosomatism in their structure. A combination of methods was used to achieve the stated goal. The Results of the Study and their Discussion. In all three languages, phraseological units with a zoosomatic component represent a relatively small group of units whose semantics are based on a comparison of human actions with the habits of animals, as well as with human actions directed at animals. The somatic components of the analyzed phraseological units denote body parts of animals familiar to native speakers. The most frequent somatic component of phraseological units in all three languages is хвост (tail, Schwanz). The analyzed phraseological units typically denote interpersonal relationships, human behavior and character, as well as various actions. A small group of units characterizes a person's emotional and physical state. As a result of the comparative analysis the phraseological units were divided into several groups: full equivalents, partial equivalents, analogs and phraseological units that have no corresponding phraseologisms with a somatic component in the other languages. Conclusion. The study revealed both similarities and differences in the semantic characteristics of phraseological units with zoosomatic components. The similarities are explained by the similar experiences of native speakers’ communication with animals, while the differences are due to nationally specific worldviews.

Authorial consciousness in Hasan Tufan's poetry of the 1920–1930s.

UDC: 821.512.145Section: PHILOLOGY
Authors: Marcel I. Ibraghimov

Annotation: Introduction. Research devoted to the study of individual artistic systems that developed during transitional periods in the history of national literatures is relevant in contemporary literary studies. In Tatar literature, one such period is the 1920s–early 1930s, when the diversity of aesthetic explorations of the early 20th century gave way to their unification, culminating in the establishment of the socialist realist canon in the second half of the 1930s. The purpose of the study is to analyze the evolution of the author's consciousness in the works of one of the famous Tatar poets, Hasan Tufan (1900–1981), as a reflection of the transitional processes in Tatar literature in the second half of the 1920s – early 1930s. Materials and methods of the study. The study used lyric poems by H. Tufan, written in the 1920s – early 1930s, as well as his literary critical articles devoted to the poetics of Tatar verse. The methodological basis of the study is the subjective approach developed in the works of B O. Korman and his followers, aimed at determining the types of author's consciousness through the analysis of subjective forms. Research results: Based on the analysis of lyric poems by H. Tufan of the 1920s – early 1930s. It has been established that the author's consciousness expressed in these poems evolves from a type influenced by avant-garde art (the author is a person involved in the elemental construction of a new life, living by the ideals of world revolution) to an artistic consciousness based on traditions expressed in national folklore and Eastern poetry. Conclusion. The results of the study allow us, on the one hand, to problematize the question of transitional processes in the history of Tatar literature at the level of the category "author"; on the other, to demonstrate the potential of subjective analysis in studying the evolution of authorial consciousness in individual artistic systems.

"Evgenievsky's Calendar" in the Chronicle of N. S. Leskov "Cathedral Folk"

UDC: 821.161.1Section: PHILOLOGY
Authors: Ilyinskaya Tatyana B.

Annotation: Introduction. The temporal structure of Leskov's chronicle "Cathedral Folk" is an insufficiently studied topic in Leskovian. One of the "white spots" in this topic is the issue of the "Eugenius Calendar", the "demikoton book", which is an alternation of the narrative of Metropolitan Evgeny (Bolkhovitinov) and the diary entries of Savely Tuberozov. Our task was to examine the connections between the texts of Protopop Saveli and Metropolitan Eugene, as well as to include the research results in solving the controversial problem of the genre nature of "Cathedral Folk", which continues to arouse close research interest. The purpose of the study is to clarify the significance of the calendar of Metropolitan Evgeny (Bolkhovitinov) in the artistic system of the chronicle "Cathedral Folk". Materials and methods. In addition to the canonical text of the "Cathedral Folk", the texts of the previous editions of the chronicle ("Waiting for the Movement of Water" and "Bozhedoms"), as well as the text of the "Commemorative Church Calendar" by Metropolitan Eugene (Bolkhovitinov) (Moscow, 1803) were used to study the problem identified in the title of the article. In the course of the analysis, comparative, structural, descriptive and motivational methods were used. Research results, discussions. Russian Russian Orthodox Church calendar, the opening pages of which contain the diary of Savely Tuberozov, expands the artistic time of the chronicle, and the life of Archpriest Savely, for a reader familiar with this book by Evgeny Bolkhovitinov, appears to be inscribed in the chronicle of Russian church and state life, in particular, echoes major events in Russian church and secular history. The chronicle of Savely's life turns out to be part of the Russian chronicle, which begins with Rurik. Thus, the role of the church calendar is very significant in the temporal structure of the Leskov chronicle. Conclusion. The result of the study was the conclusion that the "Eugenic Calendar" actualizes the chronicle of the "Cathedral Folk", allowing the depicted events to be inscribed in the chronicle of Russian life – from the time of Rurik to the present – and at the same time giving them a religious, timeless meaning.

Modality and modus in the Russian sentence: inference–justification constructions as a modus-based representation of rational and emotional content

UDC: 811.161.1Section: PHILOLOGY
Authors: Mikheev Aleksey A.; Elena S. Yarygina

Annotation: Introduction. The paper clarifies the correlation between modality and modus and interprets Russian non-proper causal complex sentences termed inference–justification constructions. Purpose. To delimit modality and modus within syntactic description and to show that inference–justification constructions embody causal links primarily between modus components, including emotional meanings. Materials and methods. The material comprises non-proper causal complex sentences and comparable fragments of literary discourse. Descriptive and functional-semantic analysis, semantic-syntactic interpretation (dictum vs. modus framing), logical-syntactic comparison, pragmatic procedures (identifying the subject of consciousness and speech; reconstructing intentions), and the analysis of deictic (egocentric) markers are applied. Results, discussion. Modality, as a predicative category, is centered on the reality/irreality opposition and is grammatically expressed by mood forms, whereas modus has a broader scope and covers logical-syntactic and communicative-pragmatic dimensions, including deictic and egocentric elements. Inference–justification constructions reveal mono-subjectivity combined with poly-modality: the inference part is typically based on the modus of opinion/assumption (often evaluative), while the justification part relies on the modus of knowledge or perception. A minimal typology of inference-justification constructions is proposed based on the dominant modus in the inference component (evaluative, epistemic, perceptual-interpretive) and the type of grounding in the justification component. The analysis specifies deictic/egocentric and parenthetical markers that signal modus framing and support the reconstruction of the subject of consciousness in literary discourse. Conclusion. A modus-based perspective reconciles grammatical and logical-pragmatic descriptions and enables a more precise interpretation of rational-emotional semantics in inference–justification constructions.

Semantic oppositions poro ‘good’ – osal ‘evil’, poro ‘kind’ – osal ‘evil’ in Mari paroemias

UDC: 811.511.151Section: PHILOLOGY
Authors: Mitruskova Anzhelika A.

Annotation: Introduction. The analysis of the semantic oppositions poro ‘good’ – osal ‘evil’, poro ‘kind’ – osal ‘evil’ occupies a special place in the study of mental, cultural and linguistic phenomena. Like other semantic oppositions, they reflect to a certain extent the linguistic picture of the world and the peculiarities of human consciousness. The purpose of the work is to describe and analyze the semantic content of semantic oppositions with the words poro ‘good, kind’, osal ‘evil’ as part of the Mari paroemias. Methods and research material. The descriptive-analytical method, component and linguistic-cultural analysis are used in the work. The proverbs, sayings, taboo, texts of Mari prayers from the published materials of N. S. Popov, A. E. Kitikov, T. E. Evseev, L. A. Abukaeva are considered. Translations of some illustrations are provided by the author of the article. Research results, discussions. In the Mari paremiological fund, some of the representative semantic oppositions are poro ‘good’ – osal ‘evil’, poro ‘kind’ – osal ‘evil’. In the texts of prayers, the word poro ‘kind, merciful’ functions as an epithet of the word yumo ‘god’. In the paroemias, the words poro and osal act as adjectives and nouns and realize the meanings given in the explanatory dictionary of the Mari language. The semantic oppositions poro ‘good’ – osal ‘evil’, poro ‘kind’ – osal ‘evil’ in paroemias carry such semantic loads as the interaction of good and evil and the balance between them, the ethical assessment of a person, contradictory attitude to the same phenomenon. In structural terms, the proverbs examined reveal a tautological representation of semantic opposition, the use of several semantic oppositions to enhance expressiveness. Conclusion. Poro ‘good’ and osal ‘evil’ are fundamental concepts that define the cultural values and worldview of the Mari people. The semantic oppositions poro ‘good’ – osal ‘evil’, poro ‘kind’ – osal ‘evil’ act as one of the mechanisms of the semantic plan of national culture, organize it in a certain way, establishing principles for evaluating reality.

Genre and stylistic originality of the Chuvash novel of the early 21st century

UDC: 82-1/-9Section: PHILOLOGY
Authors: Vera V. Nikiforova; Myshkina Аlbina F.

Annotation: Introduction. The Chuvash novel, as a self-sufficient genre of literature, made a strong statement in the 1950s–1980s. It was during this period that social and historical novels and epics by N. Mranka, Khv. Uyar, M. Ilbek, S. Aslan, K. Turhan, V. Paymen, P. Osipov and others appeared. Since the 1990s, Chuvash novel writing has begun to pay more attention to the problems of modernity and its socio-political processes, as a result of which its publicistic nature has increased (A. Emelyanov, L. Tallerov, I. Vutlan, D. Gordeev, etc.). The purpose of this study is to identify the thematic, stylistic and genre features of the Chuvash novel of the first two decades of the 21st century and its differences from other national novels of this period. Materials and methods. The materials of the study were a metaphorical sketch by G. Fedorov, ethno-fantasy novels by V. Stepanov, a socio-political novel by Y. San, novels (historical, phantasmagoric novel, legendary novel) by N. Maksimov, a historical novel by L. Sachkova, “war prose” by A. Khmyt, as well as large-genre works by U. Elmen, L. Tallerov, S. Pavlov, D. Gordeev; A set of methods of literary analysis was applied: biographical, problematic-aesthetic, structural-descriptive, historical-literary. Results, discussion. Chuvash novel writing of the last 20-30 years convincingly demonstrates its progressive development. Among the most significant works of a major genre, from the point of view of their genre and stylistic originality, were the metaphorical sketch by G. Fedorov "We have one chariot", permeated with signs of national thinking; the ethno-fantasy novels "Lord Pigambara Dog" and "Sabre of Tengri" by V. Stepanov, in which the author tries to understand the mystery of his people, the national spirit, reconstructing ancient layers of mythology and folklore, and revealing its history from the point of view of today; the novel by Y. San "Above the Bear Ravine", which is a multi-style, polyphonic work that combines reality and fiction, modernity and historical retrospective, artistic and journalistic styles, the harsh prose of life and heartfelt lyricism; the novel by N. Maksimov "The Radish Monument", defined by the author as a "little novel"; the cycle of novels by S. Pavlov "Rasputitsa", "Izlom", "Puchina", "That is not a sedge, not a reed", "Fog", in which serial thinking is most clearly expressed; the novel-dilogy by A. Khmyt "From the Other World", in which the traditions of the literature of the "lost generation" are revealed, special attention is paid to the "trench truth" ‒ the description of the horrors and senselessness of military events, etc. Conclusion. The genre of the novel remains relevant in Chuvash prose of the 21st century. The historical novel continues to develop, but it becomes more psychological, and the future of the nation is traced. New varieties of the long form appear (metaphorical sketch, ethno-fantasy novel, socio-political novel, etc.). The military novel is getting a new lease of life. The Chuvash novel is characterized by a discrete plot, “novelistic” (G. I. Fedorov), which is primarily associated with national thinking.

Phraseological units as a means of metaphorical modeling of the human inner world

UDC: 81Section: PHILOLOGY
Authors: Sergei A. Silin

Annotation: Introduction. The article examines the phraseological units of the Russian language as a means of metaphorical modeling of a person's inner world. In the context of the anthropocentric approach, the units of language are considered not only from a hierarchical point of view, but also from a cognitive one. The paper substantiates the position that phraseology is a key tool for representing the Russian linguistic worldview. The goal of the work is to identify and analyze key metaphorical models representing the conceptual sphere of the "inner world of man" in Russian phraseology, which reveal the specifics of the Russian linguistic picture of the world. Research methods and materials. The theoretical basis of the research was made up of works on cognitive linguistics and lexicology by domestic and foreign authors. Russian Russian phraseological units were analyzed using a continuous sampling method from the National Corpus of the Russian Language and the Phraseological Dictionary of the Russian Literary Language, edited by A.I. Fedorova, we have formulated 4 basic metaphorical models that structure the conceptual sphere of the "inner world of man." Research results and discussion. Metaphorical models are formulated based on the formula "X is Y" / "X is like Y": 1. "Psyche/character is a space/object/internal organ", 2. Metaphorical model "emotions are a vessel/liquids/ elements/reactions", 3. Metaphorical model "Moral qualities – these are physical characteristics", 4. "Life/destiny is a road/the journey." Conclusion. The analysis of basic metaphorical models has shown that the phraseology of the Russian language serves as a means of verbalizing the conceptual sphere of the "inner world of man". The highlighted phraseological models reveal the deep structures of national consciousness and demonstrate the comprehension of abstract concepts through familiar, concrete (physical and spatial) concepts.

The image of things as part of the socio-cultural space in the Christmas stories of N. S. Leskov

UDC: 821.161.1 ЛесковSection: PHILOLOGY
Authors: Starygina Svetlana Dmitrievna; Davydova Irina K.

Annotation: ntroduction. The study of Leskov's material world is one of the key challenges in Leskov studies, as the writer is attentive to the material realities of life and expresses them vividly in his literary texts. Object images in the writer's works are a crucial means of artistically depicting class-based sociocultural space. The authors of this article propose their own classification of object images functioning in the texts of Leskov's Christmas stories, focusing primarily on the characterization of the group of "classless objects." The aim is to characterize the image of the material world in N. S. Leskov's work as a multifaceted phenomenon and to reveal the writer's unique use of "classless objects" in his Christmas stories. Materials and Methods. The main methodological principles of the study are historicism, objectivity, comprehensiveness, and systemicity. An analytical study of sources isemployed. A comprehensive approach to the study of the stated topic necessitated the use of sociocultural, historical, and philological methods of literary analysis. The primary methods of analyzing literary texts are structural-semantic, structural-functional, and comparative-historical. A textual commentary technique is also employed. Research results and discussions. The authors propose definitions of the concepts "material world" and "sociocultural space," and clarify the concept of "thing." They also propose a classification of object images in Leskov's stories. They provide a poetic characterization of the images of "classless things," identifying their functions. They reveal methods for creating images of everyday life, and confirm the effectiveness of an integrated approach to studying artistic phenomena. Keywords: material world, material image, sociocultural space, "classless things."

Poetic interpretation of phraseological units with the nuclear component UM in the discourse of modern poetry

UDC: 81`42:821.161.1-1Section: PHILOLOGY
Authors: Zhang Qiang

Annotation: Introduction. The creative use of phraseological units by poets creates new and profound poetic images that enrich the reader's emotional experience of their artistic perception. Facts of the transformation of stable figurative units demonstrate the flexibility of the phraseological system and the ability of poets, through the modification of phraseological units, to convey their attitude towards reality. Their use in contemporary poetry and the study of their transformations become a relevant problem for cognitive poetics as a science of the mental processes of linguo-creative consciousness, in which individual conceptual structures are generated and fixed in discourse. The purpose of this study is to identify and analyze facts of the transformation of phraseological units in the contemporary discourse of poetry. Materials and methods. The work employs a cognitive-discursive approach to the analysis of phraseological units, which involves understanding the linguistic mechanisms of the creative consciousness of poets within the framework of poetic discourse as a special type of communication. Based on the material from the Poetic Subcorpus of the Russian National Corpus, a discursive analysis of phraseological units with the core component MIND was conducted, including the identification of formal and semantic modifications leading to the creation of new conceptual spheres. The empirical base is a sample of contexts with such modifications from poetic fragments of literary works presented in the RNC concordance, published from 1987 to 2021. Results of the research, discussion, conclusion: poets consciously use formal and semantic transformations of phraseological units to convey their individual impressions, experiences, and sensations more accurately and vividly. At the same time, transformed phraseological units become a creative tool for transmitting the authors' reflections on their era through its interpretation, associated with the actualization of the conceptual-semantic features of the core lexeme MIND as the cognitive basis of the poetic image. The creative reinterpretation of phraseological units in the contemporary discourse of poetry continues to be a crucial mechanism for renewing poetic language, demonstrating the flexibility of the phraseological system and the poet's ability to create new meanings through dialogue with tradition. The results of the analysis of the individual-authorial interpretation of phraseological facts in the contemporary discourse of poetry contribute to the development of the theory of artistic discourse and cognitive poetics.
