In the article series of popular novels J. Rowling's Harry Potter is analyzed in terms of the presence in it of elements of the English fairy-mythological tradition. In the spotlight — basic mythological archetype of the “universal character”, which is the transformation of the text John. Rowling is associated with traditional forms of existence of the motivic unit in the English fairy tale.
