The article considers the literary activity of the Chuvash literature classics by S. V. Helguer. Stages of the creative biography of the writer lining up in a socio-political and cultural era context. Based on an analytical review of the most important works of S. V. Helguer identified his features artistic personality and general artistic strategy of his oeuvre.
