The article deals with the questions of transformation of education in journalism and in the occupation of a journalist in a changing society. The experience of the Chair of Journalism of The N.I. Lobachevsky Nizhny Novgorod University in their cooperation with employers has been analysed in the context of modern tendencies in the mass media market.
