The article is devoted to the general state of domestic and inbound tourism sphere in the Republic of Mari El. It considers both the common potential of this industry and specific lines of development and large investment projects being implemented in the republic. The expert judgments of tourism development availability considering climate and geographical, historical and architectural, natural and ecological features of our region are also given in the article.
