Political leaders often refer to a priority of international law in any sphere of human life which is just. Certain international standards exist in the field of human rights. Standards on elections, enumerated among them, are considered to be fundamental. They are connected with three main rights: 1) the right to participate in governing a country; 2) the right to elect and to be elected; 3) the right to have an equal access to public service.
