Introduction. Conducting olympiads and quizzes in a foreign language at a university is a tool for monitoring, organizing as well as improving the educational process. University’s educational policy is aimed at creation of effective conditions for the implementation of education, which will meet not only the current needs of modern life, but will also create a strong foundation for the growth and self-development of specialists in the future. The COVID-19 pandemic in Russia in 2020 was a kind of impetus for teachers to realize the need to develop a higher-quality digital product that allows them to competently organize both classroom and extracurricular work for students. The article analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of creating and using digital products in Google Forms. The purpose of this work is to present two digital products created in Google forms for conducting a language Olympiad and a cross-country quiz among Russian students and schoolchildren as part of extracurricular work. Materials and methods. The development and implementation of these testing systems in the educational process are based on theoretical methods of pedagogical research (theoretical analysis of pedagogical sources) and empirical methods of pedagogical research (observation, study of documentation, study of the products of students’ activities, testing, generalization of independent characteristics), as well as on methods of statistical processing data. Research results, discussion. The modular structure of the testing systems “Online English Language Olympiad – 2023” and “Famous People of The UK and The USA – 2023” includes information and methodological support, a practice-oriented module, an editing module and a monitoring module. The article discusses the functional purpose of these systems; their technical, didactic, methodological, psychological and pedagogical characteristics. The results of the Olympiad and quiz using Google Forms are presented and analyzed. Recommendations for improving the organization of students’ extracurricular work while studying a foreign language are given.
