The article shows how teacher’s information competence is formed in the process of studying a foreign language in higher educational institutions. It reveals the notion information competence of a foreign language teacher, describes the results of experimental work on the realization of the model aiming at the formation of information competence of future foreign language teachers on the basis of person-oriented approach.
