One of the key features of the modern literary process is the creation of personal universes. While forming them, literary artists, including the already well-known beginners, turn to folklore and mythological ideas. The purpose of this article is an attempt to reveal the peculiarities of young (aged 35 and less) authors’ interpretation of the traditional (folk) worldview. The given paper deals with the works of Leta Yugay (Elena Fedorovna Yugay), the winner of the literary award Debut (2015). In her collection “Forget-the-River” (2015) the poetess reconstructs a unique artistic world that she got a glimpse of during her ethnographic expeditions. In most of the poems the author uses objective facts, realities, and ritual actions, but interprets them in her own way. Yugay manages to attach a very accurate name to the genre of her experiments – “poetic interviews”. As a result, the reader witnesses living dialogues between the writer and her characters, feels involved into adventures, admires weird, but at the same time charming characters, created by the author. The authors of the paper come to the concludion that the model of Yugay's new “cosmos”, no doubt, has a number of innovative features: it is not frozen, strictly limited by certain parameters and a set of characters static universe, but a living, sensual world, where the traditional opposition “ours” – “alien” has been overcome. An important component of Yugay’s universe is her attempt to set various forms of contact between man and representatives of other worlds, while the author herself, the mediator in the space of the worlds coexisting in her universe, acts as the keeper of the delicate balance of forses of nature and man.
