The article is devoted to the ethnic symbols of the Mari. The author advances the main terms: the national costume, women’s clothing ornaments and embroideries. Much attention is given to the characteristics of the national costume and women’s embroideries since the traditional costume decorated with jewelries and embroideries is one of the brightest elements of Mari national culture.
