The article analyzes and describes syntactic constructions, revealed by the method of continuous sampling from the poems by J. Brodsky. The constructions include attributive characteristics of aquatic nominations using a temporary process indication, indicated by different participial forms. Functioning in combination with different aquatic nominations of participles, formed from the verbs of different lexical and semantic groups of a single semantic field of action and communicating through the language the connection between the poetry of Joseph Brodsky and the idea of time is shown on a large illustrative material. It is established that for the attributive characteristics of aquatic nominations, the poet most actively uses the participles formed from the verbs of two lexical-semantic sub-fields “physical impact” and “movement”, the field of “action”: actual (more often) and passive (less often) pledge, past (more often) and present (less often) time. It is shown that the image of the tragic bifurcation of the surrounding lyrical hero of the world, inherent in the lyrics of J. Brodsky, split along the border, connected with the world of water. This led to the active use of the aquatic nomination in the idiolect of the poet in combination with the participial forms of the lexico-semantic group of separation. The article points to the special significance for the artistic worldview of J. Brodsky of the connection between the realities of the water element and the ideas of swimming and running, as evidenced by the repetitive, especially beloved by the poet, one-root participles
