Religious consciousness of a man is revealed in the way how his views on the world are reflected. Religion is represented as a phenomenon existing in reality, the history of the origin and structure of the Christian, Buddhist, Islamic versions of world creation are presented in the article. Atheistic consciousness is viewed as a part of spiritual life of society. The author’s attention is paid to the gnoseological and social foundations of religious beliefs.
