The article reveals the influence of gas processing plant on the assimilation organs of
Pinus sylvestris

Pinus sibirica
under the conditions of the northern taiga depending on the emission source distance and wind
directions. It is shown that the farther from the plant, the longer the needle, the greater its mass and the less is their

The article deals with the structure of coenopopulation of the rare species — Carex pauciflora Lightf., registered in the Red Book of Rare and Endangered Species of the Republic of Mari El. For the first time, eight ontogenetic conditions of carex — from juvenile to senile — have been distinguished and described. The authors have also studied the age structure of coenopopulations and morphometric features of shoots.

Human genome contains 57 genes encoding cytochromes P450 (CYPs). Missense mutations in these genes may cause various diseases, such as organ malformation or cancer development. Currently, there are no computational methods available to reliably predict the effect of a mutation in CYPs. In this work, we conducted a large scale analysis of known mutations in CYPs to identify characteristics that can be used for prediction of newly found mutations to have a benign or deleterious effect.

THE EFFECTIVENESS OF MILKING ROBOTS IMPLEMENTATION ON A FAMILY FARM

Production performance of cows herd in two annual periods identified as A in the year preceding the milking
robot use and identified as B in the first year of its use have been analyzed. The feeding of cows herd in both years
was identical, cows were fed by the complete mixture (TMR). After the robot implementation animals had quickly
adopted to the new solution, both young and older cows in 5 to 9 lactation. During the considered period of time
the culling level was around 20 % a year, while culling ages were 4 to 5 years with life performance of more than
30 000 kg of milk. Also the udders health determined on the LKS basis was very similar in both periods. Milk
yield in both periods A and B was similar at around 8 300 kg. Also in the stages of lactation milk yield, fat and
protein contents were similar. In the early stage of lactation low protein content was reported indicating a defi-
ciency of energy in the taken feed. The urea content in the milk during period A in most cases exceeded the rec-
ommended values while in period B was in the normal range. This indicates more rational use of the concentrate by cows fed
on the robot milking stand. Implementation of the robot improved conditions and work load associated with
the milking process.

The article contains the results showing how hydro-mechanic processing influences physical and chemical and microbiological properties of mare’s milk. The proposed method has not influenced negatively the physical and chemical characteristics but considerably prolonged the bactericidal phase. The adding of pure cultures of koumiss dough sour into processed and non-processed milk allowed shorterning the acidity increase up to the optimal level and prolonging of its sell-by date.

At present, the research on the influence of inbreeding on the milk productivity and reproduction functions of mares is rather urgent. Inbreeding is one of the ways to improve breeds of horses. In horse breeding, the method of inbreeding has been used for a long time, but its influence has been studied only in sports horse breeding. According to E. S. Stolnaya, 29 % of the Thoroughbred in Europe is inbreeded and 71 % — outbreeded. The average indexes of riding horses do not differ for both groups. In the US, on the contrary, 80 % of stud horses was received with the help of inbreeding and only 20 % was outbreeded, the number of racehorses in the group of inbreeded horses is greater. The influence of inbreeding on mares’ reproductive qualities has been investigated well enough, but, according to our data, the research on the impact of inbreeding on the milk productivity of heavy harness horses has not been done yet.

In the article, an attempt is made to show that Greek ritual practice did not only allow the woman to participate in social life but also take her place in the organization of the polis, that it was due to the ritual practice that the role of the woman became to increase which finally lead to the changes in the polis structure. Greek tragedy became an indicator of women’s change in their position in the polis. It shows that in the real history of ancient Greece the woman did not correspond to the image created for us by the following exclusively ‘male’ tradition.
